U. S. Navy Supply Officers - NAVSUPSYSCOM
Before entering the U.S. Navy, Christopher B. Pickford attended George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in history in 1991. Christopher B. Pickford is currently a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy, serving as a supply officer for NATO Mission Afghanistan.
Supply officers in the U.S. Navy are responsible for the administration and direction of activities related to providing supplies to specific locations. The supply officer is also tasked with the job of inventory control along with storage of materials, budgeting, and accounting, as well as logistics and distribution of supplies.
The work of supply officers in the U.S. Navy is guided and regulated by the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUPSYSCOM). The Supply Systems Command strives to pursue customer satisfaction and to provide agile and responsible support in carrying out its mission. The Command has a long history of providing dynamic supply operations.
